I am a 42-year-old divorced woman, and I have been living alone with my two children for the last six years after my divorce. I have a 20-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter. I work for the Delhi Government and have always tried to take care of my children and maintain a stable life for them. Around 18 months ago, my son’s best friend, who was 22 at that time, came to our house for the first time. Initially, there was nothing unusual. We started talking casually, and over time, our conversations became more frequent. After a few months, we were talking almost every day through messages and phone calls. Somewhere along the way, the relationship crossed a boundary. One thing led to another, and we became physically involved. What started as something I never expected gradually turned into a physical relationship that continued for almost a year. Looking back now, I deeply regret allowing this relationship to develop. He is my son’s best friend, and the age difference between us is also significant. More importantly, I now realize that this relationship is not something I want in my life. I feel that I made a serious mistake and allowed my emotions and circumstances to take me somewhere I should not have gone. The most difficult part is that he does not want the relationship to end. He wants to continue meeting me, calling me, and staying physically involved. But I have made my decision. I do not want to continue this relationship anymore. I want to end it completely and move forward with my life. I want there to be no more private meetings, phone calls, messages, or physical relationship between us. I understand that simply deciding to end it may not be easy, especially because he may continue contacting me or try to convince me to change my mind. But I know that I need to set a clear boundary and stick to it. I am also worried about the consequences because he is my son’s close friend. I do not want this situation to affect my children or their lives. I want to protect my family, regain my peace of mind, and leave this chapter of my life behind. I am writing this confession because I needed to say it somewhere without being judged. I am not trying to justify what happened. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept that I made a mistake. Now, I only want to end this relationship respectfully but firmly. I want to say no more meetings, no more calls, no more messages, and no more physical relationship. I want to regain control of my life and focus on my children, my work, and my future. I hope that, with time, I will be able to forgive myself, learn from this mistake, and move forward.

You can directly speak with this boy openly about the current situation and also inform him that u don't want to continue the relationship further. Also u tell him frankly that if u continue the relationship will surely affect your children's future. Hence, it is better to part way with him for mutual concent.
Point one - you may not want the situation to affect your kid etc but that is now out of your hands and frankly it was out of your hands the moment you started getting involved with that boy. Point two - Yes, ending it is a wise decision, but how he will react is something that is again out of your hands. Point three - It may be a hard thing to do, but perhaps confide in your son and tell him what you did and how it was a huge mistake from your side that happened in a weak moment. It won't be easy for him to process it but a worse case would be if his friend tells him. Think about all this. Good luck.
A mistake doesn’t have to become your whole life. You’ve accepted it, so now set a clear boundary—no calls, messages, meetings or private contact. Don’t keep explaining or negotiating; a firm “no” is enough. Protect your peace, your children and your future. Forgive yourself, learn from it, and move forward. ❤️
I appreciate your level of undeestanding! Not many people have the courage to admit that what they did was wrong! Having a relation ship with a person half your age is a blunder, yes! But now that you have realized this, you must put an end to it! No one will accept and no one will understand, ever!! You cant think about your happiness by hurting your children and his family! I hope that boy understands you point of view and forgets everything!! Best of luck to you!
