Community Guidelines

Speak honestly. Protect the people in the story.

These standards apply to confessions, article submissions, and comments. They are designed to preserve useful conversation without requiring everyone to agree.

The short version

Share experiences and opinions, not threats, exposure, abuse, scams, or instructions that could cause harm.

Content standards

What belongs here

Be respectful

Disagreement, criticism, humor, and difficult conversations are welcome. Targeted humiliation, bullying, serious harassment, or repeated personal attacks are not.

No hate

Do not attack, demean, or exclude people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, caste, or another protected characteristic.

No threats or encouragement of harm

Threats, instructions or encouragement to hurt someone, glorification of violence, and encouragement of suicide or self-harm are not allowed. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Protect personal information

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses, home or work addresses, identification numbers, private social profiles, screenshots containing private data, or information intended to expose someone.

Avoid identifying private individuals

Use roles or general descriptions instead of full names. Do not impersonate another person or present yourself as an organization you do not represent.

Keep explicit content within safe boundaries

Do not submit pornography, sexual solicitation, graphic sexual descriptions, exploitative content, or any sexual content involving minors.

No spam or advertising

Promotional links, repeated messages, scams, recruitment pitches, unsolicited services, affiliate offers, and requests to move the conversation to private messaging may be hidden.

Do not facilitate illegal activity

Content that meaningfully helps someone commit fraud, evade law enforcement, obtain illegal goods, or cause harm is not allowed.

Moderation and reports

How these standards are enforced

Review and removal

We may reject, hide, edit, limit, or remove content that violates these guidelines, creates a privacy or safety risk, is unlawful, or substantially lowers the quality of the discussion.

Context matters

Mentioning a difficult topic is not automatically a violation. Moderation considers whether content reports an experience, criticizes an idea, targets a person, promotes harm, or exposes private information.

Report a concern

Use the Contact page and include the confession number or exact URL, what concerns you, and your requested outcome. Do not repeat sensitive information unnecessarily.

Standards can evolve

We may update these guidelines as the community and risks change. The latest published version governs public participation.
