A car accident made me realize how lost I am in life

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. I am a late 30’s old woman, who is currently completely puzzled in life. Yesterday i have met with a car accident while returning from work and by god’s grace no one was injured, but somehow this has traumatised me in a shock about my purpose in life. I mean what i am doing in my life and career, i feel like i am not doing enough because when i see my friends settled happily in life, I wish the same for myself someday but I don’t know whether i will make it happen or not. I am just lost in life and dont know what i am doing & end of the day feeling like a failure.

How is car accident, trauma and realising that someone is lost in life connected. Sorry if I am the moron, but I guess accident teaches us the value of life and not whether someone is lost or not....

The day you stop comparing yourself to others, focus on your own life, prioritise yourself, and realise that your happiness is in your hands — things will start getting better. It might feel difficult at first, but don’t lose hope. You will get there.

There is always someone doing better than us, looking prettier than us, well off than us. The key to happiness and satisfaction is not comparison, but contemplation. Its fine to have such feelings once in a while as we are human but that shouldn't make you feel less in any way.

Grass is always greener on other side. Don’t overthink life. Keep it simple. Find a motivation and a reason to wake up everyday. Read some good books and if possible practice meditation. Success or Purpose of life is not always monetary. Find your true purpose of life.

It's just a wake up call for you to do things today than postponing things for tomorrow or the future. Take it positively and lead a happy life by doing things that you want.

Certain events in life, can make us question a lot of things. Even our own existence. The purpose of it all. What are we here to do? It's absolutely ok to think like that. I hope u are well and safe!

I think the accident may have triggered a lot of emotions that were already sitting beneath the surface. When something frightening happens and we suddenly realise how fragile life can be, it is natural to question where we are heading. But please don’t measure your life against your friends’ timelines. What looks like a “settled and happy” life from the outside may not tell the whole story. There is no fixed age by which you must have achieved marriage, children, a certain career position, financial stability, or any other milestone. Being in your late 30s does not mean you are too late. It simply means you have more clarity about what you don't want, and perhaps an opportunity to consciously decide what you do want next. Also, one accident doesn't need to become a verdict on your entire life. Take some time to recover emotionally, talk to someone you trust, and then break the bigger question of “What am I doing with my life?” into smaller ones: What makes me happy? What kind of work gives me purpose? What relationships do I want? What can I realistically change in the next six months? You are not a failure because you haven't reached someone else's definition of success. Sometimes being lost is simply the beginning of figuring out where you actually want to go.

Should I suicide now, at least you have car, thar means you belongs to well to do family...., many more people like us still in struggling phase, and worst part is I am male, we don't have any identity until and unless we earn enough. So you are in way better position than mine, still getting upset
