As a first generation doctor I struggle financially after twenty years

36/F I’m a doctor by profession. 1st generation. Married to a (1st gen) doctor and have a 3yr old kid. With time things are really getting tough. Ppl say doctors are rich, but bilkul nhi lag rha aisa. Worked really hard for nearly 2 decades and still I feel I would have to think twice before thinking of spending on luxury. I see my engineering friends buying cars and huge houses, and here I am not even able to buy an iPhone. Even the vendors around my home have iPhones (kaha se aata hai bhai I don’t know) I’ve tried govt, I’ve tried private. I see only generational doctors earning well. Probably took a wrong decision when I was in 11th Sometimes I feel so low kaise ayega paisa. Life me paise he sab kuch hai aisa lagne laga hai. Genuine doctors can’t earn I feel. Patients ko jo ullu bana rahe hai wahi Kama rahe hai. I want to shift abroad. But I have no clue kaise hoga. Just wanted to vent out. Thanks for reading. Any suggestions are most welcome

Doctor banne ke baad pata chala—patients ka BP, apna BP aur bank balance… teeno high/low hote rehte hain. 😂 But seriously, don’t compare your journey with generational wealth. Abroad shift is possible, but research the licensing + earning vs living-cost equation first. Paisa important hai, but wrong comparison can make a good life feel poor.
