My friend wants to share his inheritance but his wife disagrees

My friend got married a couple of years ago. He earns very well, 80 lpa+, with wife also earning 35lpa. But he is from a humble background and his sister with her husband don't earn as much - 15lpa combined. So friend's mother wants to split their house worth >1cr (his father's self earned property) between him and his sister. And he is fully okay with it. But his wife doesn't agree with that and is creating issues. I just wanted to know, for all the equality talk otherwise, why do we still discriminate when it comes to property? Why not give it equally to the children irrespective of their gender, even though the law says so? And any suggestions for the friend, what should he do?

Sister of ur friend, will of his mother, property of his father, how much say does his wife has in it lol?? Women nature for a moment is understandable, but does he really want to split the property with his sister or just finding a reason not to share? I am sorry but have seen such cases where the person himself lowkey doesn't want to share and act responsibly but blames it on his wife "Mhari lugai mana ki hai ji" 🐸

Both by Law and ethics they have to share the property, that’s the process and rules of legal heir. No one can escape that, unless the sister give up her share legally, in written.

Suggestion for the friend- try to make her understand logically. If she doesn’t, ignore her and go ahead. As it is, it’s mother’s choice and her decision. Son and dil have no role in it. They can’t do anything except accepting it gracefully.

His wife has nothing to do or say regarding anything related to her in laws property or assesst. If your friend is earning well nd doing well in life ...he should willingly gift the house to his sister as she is not that well off. Relationship between siblings is much more precious 💕 nd valuable than any other relationship. With age we need our own people to be the support... You need a home to stay ...even if you have 10 property during the time of need nd support you need your own people.

In absence of WILL Man's self earned property is EQUALLY divided between his mother(if still alive), wife, child1, child2 and so on. So your friend's mother wants to give half property to daughter - is not the right thing. They each are 1/3rd owner. DIL might be objecting because son will expect his wife to be caretaker of his mother during old age. Call it's her 'duty'. All the while his sister will stay away from all the hard work and visit occasionally. If son and daughter are going to take care of their mother then they don't have to listen to what DIL is saying. ASSUMING: DIL's salary is being used ONLY for herself, her children (if any) and her parents.

Make her read latest judgement over parental property. I smell greed only from her side.
