He used me and convinced me it was all my fault

I was single so I decided to download dating app on my friends suggestion. So this guy acts like very old school and romantic . Went out with me 3 to 4 times . But always active on bumble. I told him to leave if he cannot commit. But he kept texting every once in a while, and ignored whenever I wanted to talk. He used me twice and then stopped taking my calls. At first I thought I have some issues, there is some problem with me. But then he came again , did the same thing after being nice for a week and left again. He told me it's my fault. I don't know what to do. I thought I loved him, I thought he loves me that's why he is in my life. Now he just thrashed me. Are all on dating apps like this. I can't stop thinking about this. Now I cant love someone else also. I feel more vulnerable. I get happy when he talks and then keep waiting for him.

Girls and their RR after going after a red flag (10)

He didn’t "convince" you—you just voluntarily muted your own brain every time he hit send. The first ghosting was on him, but handing him a VIP pass to do it two more times was entirely on you. Leaving his dating app profile active wasn't a subtle code to crack, and he didn't "trash" your ability to love; he just proved you'll tolerate a toxic carousel ride as long as it starts with a nice week. Lock the door, delete the apps for a minute, and stop treating standard breadcrumbs like a five-star meal.

I 'm so sorry you went through this 🤍 Ye tumhari fault bilkul nahi hai. Jo tumhe blame kare woh tumhare layak hi nahi. Heal hone ke liye time do, aur apne aap ko dobara pyaar karna seekho. Tum deserve karte ho koi jo stay kare.

Never trust a man whom you met on a dating app and never self doubt. They are just coward to confess. He will do the same thing until you will let him. So don't think about him and move on. I know that will take sometime but you will

All ( and not most ) dating apps function this way unfortunately. And it doesn't apply to one gender . Due to options galore , people of either gender keep multiple options in hand ...some are blunt ,some are cunning , some are diplomatic ....but all roads lead to confusion " unless your stars are really strong enough " to come across someone like minded whose intentions & actions are in synergy

What happened here does not automatically mean there is something wrong with you. His repeated pattern, being affectionate, avoiding commitment, disappearing, returning when convenient, and then blaming you, is a red flag. You clearly communicated that you wanted commitment, and he continued to engage with you without offering the same clarity. That is not your fault. Also, being hurt by someone does not mean you are incapable of loving again. It simply means you need time to rebuild your trust and confidence. Please don't judge every person on a dating app by this one experience. There are genuine people there too, but you have to pay more attention to consistency than words. Someone who genuinely wants a relationship will not repeatedly leave you confused about where you stand. For now, the healthiest thing may be to stop giving him access to you. Don't wait for his messages or interpret occasional kindness as proof that things have changed. His pattern is more important than his promises. And please don't blame yourself for believing someone who presented himself as caring and romantic. Trusting someone isn't stupidity. Learning to recognise inconsistent behaviour and walk away from it is growth.

Oh Godd, probably you're too young! Don't wanna be hard on you, but take the lesson and learn not to let your guards down so easily. I hope you find your strength soon and understand the trap. Look for love that enriches, not a gimmick that drains.

Who uses dating apps in 2026? Use LinkedIn, indeed, monster, naukri, and other career portals for dating. Use dating apps only for job searches and job referrals.

Stop talking to him immediately it's a red flag it's a pure lust he has this kind of people come and go when they need and they will never committed so stay away for ur internal peace and happiness

Please don't accept such people who treat you this way. Such people never stay in life. And they will cause you to visit psychiatrist... Such people are mostly already married... And hiding their personal place and life. And yes on dating and matrimonial sites, many such cases are happening. That's why one news came that more than 70% women on dating apps are ending up in psychiatrist clinics....
