The VCDP pool generally means you are currently without an active project allocation and are being kept in an internal pool while the company looks for a suitable assignment. At this stage, don't panic and don't resign impulsively. Try to resolve the abandonment case first and focus on getting yourself allocated. Your future employment will depend much more on how Cognizant formally closes this matter than on the fact that you are temporarily in a pool.

Bhai pehle ghabrao mat. VCDP pool = bench pool hota hai. Project na hone par logon ko wahan rakhte hain. Salary milti rahegi, par project ka wait karna padega. HR/Manager se turant baat karo aur clearly pucho: "What is the timeline for deployment?" Job abandonment ka mail aaya tha, ab report kar liya hai toh HR ko mail me likh ke lo ki you are reinstated.
