My fiancée's ex sent me their intimate photos before our wedding - Confession #C27998 | Corporate Confessions

My fiancée's ex sent me their intimate photos before our wedding

I (27M earning ₹30LPA) met a girl through an arranged marriage setup. She's known to my family through relatives, and she's 4 years younger than me (23F). She's currently doing her MBA from an average B-School. I'm a very shy person and I've never really been in a relationship before. I genuinely liked her, so we started talking and eventually started dating. We got quite close over the course of a month, and for the first time in my life, I felt like I was genuinely falling for someone. She was honest with me about her past. She had been in one relationship before, and she described it as very toxic. I knew they had been intimate, and honestly, that did bother me initially. But I had accepted that it was her past, and I believed she had moved on. I didn't want to judge her for something that happened before me. We also had our Roka with the blessings of both families. Then things took a really unexpected turn. Her ex somehow contacted me and told me to leave her and cancel the marriage. I refused. After that, he sent me personal/intimate photos of the two of them. That completely broke me. I already knew they had been intimate, but knowing something happened and actually seeing it are two completely different things. I never asked to see those photos, and now I can't get those images out of my head. I genuinely love this girl. She's also the first person I've ever become this emotionally close to, so maybe that's making everything feel even more intense. I don't blame her for having a past, and I know logically that she was with him before she met me. But whenever I look at her or think about our future, those images sometimes flash back into my mind. I start imagining her with him, comparing myself to him, and it hurts badly. I don't know whether this is something I can eventually overcome or whether I'm just not capable of accepting her past. Has anyone been through something similar? How did you deal with intrusive thoughts or images about your partner's past, especially when you never wanted to see those things in the first place? PS: The Photos seemed to be taken with her Consent, in some photos, it seemed like she was the one who was taking the Selfie, while they both were lying n*ked on the bed. I told her and her parents are involved and filed a case... But I don't know what to do, it's getting to my head now. Please suggest me, shall I go ahead with the Wedding as planned or Cancel the Marriage?

The Gap Between Knowing and Seeing

The central conflict in this confession is the painful gap between intellectual acceptance and visual trauma. Logically, the writer understands that his fiancée’s past is behind her and that she is a victim of a malicious, non-consensual violation by her ex. He had already processed and accepted her history. However, actually seeing the intimate images bypassed his rational mind, replacing an abstract concept with a visceral, painful reality that he cannot easily unsee.

This leaves him grappling with a difficult trade-off: his genuine emotional connection to his fiancée versus his current inability to separate her from the intrusive images. The ex's hostility was designed to sabotage the union, and it successfully shifted the writer's struggle from a standard adjustment to an ongoing battle with comparison and insecurity. While the legal system can address the violation of privacy, the writer must now weigh whether his emotional resilience can heal from this trauma within the relationship, or if the visual reminder has permanently altered his perception of their future.

Things Worth Thinking About

  • How can a partner separate a loved one from the trauma of an external violation?
  • Can intellectual acceptance survive the emotional toll of intrusive visual images?
  • How do you distinguish between temporary shock and a permanent shift in a relationship?

You have informed her+her parents & they have filed case against ex - this is good. If you are unable to get those images out of your head, then postpone marriage. Take a break from girl, relationship for some time. Inform her+her parents that you need time to clear your head (around 3-6 months). Only after that, you will be able to decide if you can still go ahead with marriage or not. If they can't wait that long then they can break engagement from their side.

don’t cancel the marriage solely because of those photos. Her past was before you, and the bigger issue is that her ex violated her privacy by sending them. But don’t rush into the wedding either while you’re mentally overwhelmed. Take some time, stop viewing/saving the photos, talk openly with her, and see whether you can genuinely accept her past without punishing her for it. If after giving yourself time you still know you’ll constantly compare yourself to her ex, it’s better to cancel respectfully than enter a marriage filled with resentment.

If it's a yes/no situation better go with no... Otherwise you gonna regret lifetime 🙂 and that girl told about her past relationship not about being intimate with him... Maybe she is hiding more who knows 🤨

Bro, what you feel is valid. Knowing is different from seeing, especially when you were FORCED to see. Her past photos were consensual then, but sharing them now WITHOUT her consent is a crime. Ex is toxic as she said. This is retroactive jealousy with intrusive thoughts - very common and treatable with counseling. Don't take life decision in trauma. If you accepted her past before photos, then you love HER, not her past. Delete pics, get 2-3 therapy sessions, talk honestly to her without blaming. If she stands with you patiently, don't let a criminal ex win. Case filing was right. Now focus on healing, not cancelling.

Firstly let her parents file a FIR and get him arrested (as there is clear evidence of cyber crime). Then watch videos of him and photos of him behind the bars. Next is morph the photos of what her ex-sent you , by changing them to what you want to see. Like she slapping the guy talking photos. She being forced to get intimate, not a tinge of willingness; she in bed but abusing and leaving him etc ...this itself wil act as a therapy.....no need any other therapy, Contact a Photography professional and get such photos done and look at them only, in few days your mind will start working reverse gear and but your mariage in front gear...lol
