I refuse to divorce my cheating husband to ruin his future happiness

I am 39 , F working in IT mother of a 10 yr old kid. My husband has been cheating on me from plast 8 years!!! Initially I shouted, cried, wanted to save my home,my relationship and my kid's life as never wanted a divorce thinking it will ruin my kids mental peace. I earn well enough to take care of myself and kid and am not dependent on my husband financially. But he as usual said he shall comr out of this mess and disconnect from the other woman. This never happened, I caught him 3 times cheating , every time same drama. The moment I shall decide to move out with kid he is mad as he loves the kid very much. But he neither left the woman nor he gave me back my wife life. We are like roommates in a house but my confession is now I have found a cruel joy in all these drama. I shall never ever give him divorce or leave him and stay separate although I have 2 houses of my own. I shall never ever give the other woman the legit happiness. Let her be the mistress but she can never start a family or lead a married life. I feel now she is desperate to start a family but now the game begins!!! I am waiting for my kid to settle down with a job and that very day I shall leave my husband . He might be quite old then and so will be the woman. Will see if she still stays with him by his side in old age.. but will never ever give them the happiness of a young life together. Ladies in my situation and who dont have the urge to start a new relationship thinking of kid,pls do not come out of such a marriage. Live peacefully and burn the hell out of the lovers.

Editorial PerspectiveThe Corporate Confessions Editorial Team

The Cost of Weaponized Patience

The author presents a striking pivot from a victim of chronic infidelity to an active strategist of marital gridlock. Despite possessing full financial independence and owning two properties, she chooses to remain in a dead marriage. This decision highlights a profound tension: the trade-off between personal liberation and the gratification of denial. By staying, she successfully blocks her husband and his partner from legitimizing their relationship, yet this strategy of attrition binds her own life to the very household and partner that caused her pain.

She plans to maintain this holding pattern until her ten-year-old child enters the workforce—potentially a decade or more away. While this approach provides her with a sense of control and justice, it raises questions about the emotional atmosphere of a home run as a tactical roommate arrangement. The ultimate gamble is whether the long-term satisfaction of withholding happiness from others outweighs the immediate peace of walking away.

Things Worth Thinking About

  • How does framing a marriage as a strategic holding pattern affect the emotional environment for a growing child?
  • At what point does the energy required to deny others happiness cost more than the peace of moving on?
  • Can financial independence truly be leveraged if one's physical living situation remains bound to a dysfunctional relationship?

You have every right to be hurt, but spending decades planning revenge will only keep you trapped in the same marriage. Your husband’s cheating is his choice—not your identity. Protect your child, protect your peace, and choose the life that frees you, not the one that punishes them.

This will end up nowhere dear.Thjs will add to your stress and will take over your health gradually.Try choosing peace over revenge. Take a break from your routine, calm down your body and mind , then think without taking any pressure, you will come up with a solution

>> Initially I shouted, cried, wanted to save my home,my relationship and my kid's life as never wanted a divorce thinking it will ruin my kids mental peace.>> If kid has seen those fights then they are damaged. You two should have started 'peacefully living like flatmates' arrangement BEFORE damaging kid. Or If he genuinely loves kid, then you two could have shared custody. Keep kid with him for 1 week and 1 week you. Thenresponsibilities of child rearing and fun times with child will be equally divided.

Good. If he can ruin your happiness, you too can ruin his.

No intimacy, no love, no devotion and no support of any kind from your side till he dies naturally, may be then you will repent or may be not. But don’t let him have the independence, all the best.
