Hi i'm 28 year old female working in abroad as a nurse. My whole life i never been into any kind of relationship and i hate the concept of love and marriage. Since college time my parents try to find good alliance for me and i strongly refused until now. 2024 i met a Telugu guy and its just casual meeting and somehow we got connected. I thought maybe i have good future with him then he went India and suddenly ignored my messages and calls i thought maybe he is not serious or have another relationship or something. I distant emotionally from him still we had our normal message. When he came back from india he came directly at my place and proposed me and i reject right away because i am not sure about him even though i like him i don't know if he really likes me or not. Then still we used to meet but eventually i got too attached emotionally but i never told or express my interest towards him. That year August i went to india my parents suddenly fixed my engagement. I did lots of trouble but everyone convinced me with the emotional blackmail and i agreed. They told if i can't adjust with this stranger fiancé they won't force me for the marriage and gave me 1 year. Since the very beginning we had all problems. He is very much controlled by parents and he is controlling me too. He want me to talk to him every time and i said i need a time to adjust. He asked me to say "i love you " kiss you, i said im not comfortable to say that. Once im comfortable with you i will say and its not right to force someone to say this. We had all most every time fight. He behave like a child after every fight and never call back or try to fix the issue. Each time his parents was the one try to solve the fight between us.Even his father tried to teach me how to make romance with my fiancé. I never feel the love or affection to him. So this year when i went to India i told every one i can't marry someone like this but everyone blaming me and said. I am too arrogant his family well educated and rich. Even though i said all the problem they are telling i can change his charector after marriage. So my father beg me to say yes and i don't have choice i said yes again. Now the problem i like the other guy i don't know how i will tell my parents or anyone. Even to him i never told i like him. I am hiding my emotions for too long. Please i want to break off the engagement but i worried about my fiancé. He is a spoiled man child and im worried about if he hurt himself or something. My parents also told me if i break off he will do something, he is very innocent and im lucky to get a guy like him. But no one knows how he talk to me and manipulate everyone. I don't have any problem with him but that's not the person i want. I can't stay with someone like him.please help me to escape from this i am concerned about family reputation Will ruin infront of society.
The central tension in this confession lies in the stark disconnect between the public narrative of this engagement and the private reality of the relationship. To the confessor's family, the fiancé is a "well-educated, rich, and innocent" catch, and any hesitation on her part is dismissed as arrogance. Her family treats his control and childishness as minor issues that she can easily "change" after marriage.
Behind closed doors, however, the dynamic is highly manipulative. The confessor faces intense pressure to perform affection on demand, while her fiancé's parents intervene in intimate matters. Most challenging is the weaponization of her fiancé's perceived fragility; by warning that he might "do something" if she leaves, her family shifts the moral responsibility for his safety onto her.
This leaves her trapped between the fear of social ruin for her family and the certainty of personal misery. Her current compliance protects everyone's reputation and feelings, but at the direct expense of her own autonomy.

Break off the engagement and tell your parents about the guy you like or regret rest of your life. Choice is yours.
Rather than worrying about that man-child, worry about yourself. Marriage is a lifelong bond. Get married only when you are ready, not under pressure.
You are 28 staying outside, earning your own money then who are they to force you.Dont marry if you are not comfortable it is as simple as that
28 ki age mein apni life ke decisions lene ka haq aapka hai. "1 year adjust karke dekho" bol kar 1 zindagi barbaad nahi ki jaa sakti. Jis rishte mein respect, baat cheet aur comfort nahi, waha aage badhna aur mushkil hoga. Aap akeli nahi hain. Professional help ya counselor se baat karo. Family reputation se zyada aapki mental health zaroori hai ❤️
Go tell your feelings to the guy you like/ love. Get a registered wedding. If his father can teach you romance.. he can also counsel his son to forget you. Dont fall into this emotional martyrdom.
Will the telugu guy say ok to you now? He may ask for 200 to 300 soverigns dowry even if it is love marriage. When your tummy is full you may not like more food even if it is tasty. You have developed an negative opinion about the guy that your parents have foundo for you, it wont change over time and dont marry him. Call him and inform him that you dont like him because you have someone else in your mind. Even if your parents find someone else you will have some negative opinion about that new one. Out of the two guys who is ready to play the father role for a kid? Will any of them change the diaper of their child? Or Support in house hold chores? My understanding is you love the telugu guy. You will find fault with any one else that your parents try to find for you. If the telugu guy is ok to marry you without dowry and play a responsible role in bringing up the kid marry him. Otherwise keep thinking about him for life.
You are not obligated to marry someone simply because your parents believe he is “good,” educated, wealthy, or suitable on paper. Marriage requires your consent, and feeling uncomfortable, controlled, or emotionally disconnected before marriage is a valid reason to say no. I would also separate two issues here, the fiance and the other man. Don't leave the engagement for the other guy. Leave because you genuinely do not want to marry this particular person. You don't know yet whether the other relationship will work, and your decision about marriage should not depend on that uncertainty. The bigger concern is that you have already communicated your discomfort several times, yet your boundaries are being dismissed with statements like “you can change him after marriage.” That is a dangerous assumption. Marriage rarely fixes controlling or immature behaviour, in many cases, existing patterns become more difficult after marriage. As for the fear that he may hurt himself if you end the engagement, that responsibility cannot be placed on you. If he makes threats of self harm, take them seriously and inform his family or appropriate emergency/professional support, but don't stay in a marriage out of fear that he might do something to himself. Family reputation is temporary, a potentially unhappy marriage can affect your life for decades. You are 28, financially independent and working abroad, you have more ability to make this decision than you may feel you have right now. Have one clear conversation with your parents and tell them that this isn't about finding someone “better.” You simply do not consent to this marriage. Avoid endless arguments about his character; your lack of willingness to marry is sufficient. And if you fear your family may pressure you further, consider speaking privately with a trusted person, counsellor or legal professional in India before your next visit. Don't let emotional blackmail turn a broken engagement into a lifelong commitment. Breaking an engagement may create uncomfortable conversations and temporary embarrassment, but a cancelled engagement is far easier to deal with than a marriage you never wanted.
DO NOT MARRY HIM
When you can't adjust now then after marriage also your life will be hell so do anything and stop getting married now to a childish man
