27M | Bangalore I've had two strange experiences at work that still make me wonder: why does this keep happening to me? In my first company, a girl joined my team as an intern. She would always find reasons to be around me. Within the first week, she followed me on Instagram, and I later heard from colleagues that she'd said whoever I was dating was "really lucky." When someone told her I was single, she started bringing me homemade snacks and drinks. Soon, rumors spread across the office that we were dating. I kept telling everyone we were just friends. One evening after work, she asked me to meet her at a restaurant. I went, and to my surprise, she introduced me to her boyfriend. We had dinner together, and I thought that was the end of any confusion. A few days later, she called me at night and asked if I was going for one of my usual late-night bike rides. I said yes, picked her up from her PG, and we went for a short ride followed by tea. During our conversation, she suddenly tried to kiss me. I immediately pulled away, told her it was getting late, and dropped her back. The next day, she acted as if nothing had happened. I unfollowed her, blocked her number, and maintained my distance. A month later, I got a better opportunity and left the company. I thought that chapter was over. Last year, I joined a startup in operations. A woman from another department often came over during breaks and free time to chat. Since I was new, I assumed she was just helping me settle in. She would ask about my hobbies, weekends, and interests. One of my teammates later mentioned that she was married, so I felt relieved, thinking there wouldn't be any misunderstandings. One weekend, she asked if she could join me for a bike ride. I agreed. On the way back, she wanted to stop for a smoke. She bought two cigarettes and insisted that I smoke with her. I don't smoke, but she kept trying to convince me. After smoking herself, she suddenly hugged me from behind. I ignored it and started the bike. During a festival celebration at the office, while everyone was dressed in traditional attire and playing games, she tried to kiss me. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Later, she invited me to her apartment, but I refused. A few weeks later, she was terminated because of poor performance, and we never spoke again. I still don't know what to make of these situations. I've never encouraged this kind of behavior, and in both cases I set clear boundaries and distanced myself. But I genuinely wonder... Why does this keep happening to me?
