This law has to be repealed very urgently and in a balanced way. Remember that this law came because of killing of lots of innocent ladies in the past. Now they are misusing it. If it’s not repealed many people will not get married in the future.

Sad but this how Men made law .... Law was not made by Woman ... Men made the law ... woman was never party to this Law while in make .... How system gets manipulated by the law that needs to seen ...Woman file case of abuse ,But then Police is investigative authoritty ..Police under 498A has to investigate and file charges againt the husband in COURT ... police did not do the work correctly that cannot be blamed on woman ... second party is lawyer who got his money from the Woman for winning her case .. 498a is crimiinal case .. Its has nothing to do divorce ... Both are different ... If husband is found guilty in 498A then he is punisshable and will go to Jail ... so most Husbands get a free ride by negotiating a good deal with the wife ... she gets money and he is free from criminal case under section 498A .
