My neighbor is being forced out by our city's IT boom

27M This is not about me or my package. But about one of my neighbour who is a workshop carpenter and mostly about society. I live in east hyderabad. He has stayed with us for 35 years even before i was born and built good portion of my house. He is being forcibly vacated by circumstances and I feel sad . I say forcibly not voluntarily because it's not his fault he cannot educate his three kids. His wife also works as tailor. What happened is during covid end around early 2021, many folks from all over India as well as telugu nri return started buying properties here or settling in rented properties due to IT boom and low cost of rent. This was earlier an industrial area for people of backward and daily wage class folks who did mostly labour jobs and was same like UP Bihar till 2005. Till 2020 it was fine because no large scale migrants from outside state came here but there was growth as locals got it jobs in it industry. The school fees has soared due to IT boom folks who settled here post 2021. The schools which were probably charging 20k yearly started charging 1 lakh per year. They own property but not rental floors like most homeowners here do. Their net income after both working is 4 lakhs per annum. And not just him, entire daily wage folks living here are considering to leave or have already left to their hometowns because of this issue. My long time barber, tailor, fast food seller, stationary owner, kirana shop owner, all want to leave because their rentals or their own income both cannot match software income of IT sector. US IT folks are living in an extremely privileged bubble. We crib when we have to pay 2 lakh in taxes even when our income is greater than 95% of Indians . Even if we end up in worst service companies in 3-4 years we make 1 lakh/yearly. We don't even know how many poor folks we have displaced in the process and then fight with them for normal prices. We crib if our maid asks for 500 rs raise forgetting she also has kids, needs to pay rent to property owned by another it employee for living. Just ask a normal accountant or school teacher whether it is possible to earn 10lpa within 3 years of working or ask if daily workers like above folks who get any increment any year. This is why I hate tier 1 city concept. Local culture and locals get replaced just so that wealthy landlords cam connect rent..

So when are you giving your land to them, sharing your salary with them, and relocating to a Tier 4 City? I mean you're part of the problem you have mentioned here. No one forced them to have 3 kids in this economy knowing they can't provide for them

Give them your land to resettle. And if you hate the Tier 1 city concept so much, feel free to migrate to a rural area/Tier 4 town
