I got rejected after clearing three interview rounds over four days

Title: Got told my "attitude" wasn't a match after clearing 3 rounds over 4 days - still processing this one So this happened literally today and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. Background: I'm a civil engineer with about 7-8 years in RCC site execution, applied for a QS/site role at a company through a recruiter, for a project out of state. The whole process took about 4 days and I cleared 3 rounds in that time. Round 2 was honestly where things started feeling off. I was on an MS Teams call and got kept waiting for a full hour, with the interviewer's mic and camera both off the entire time. No message, no explanation, nothing. Then right at the end they came on and said they had an urgent meeting come up and I'd need to redo that same round again later that evening. I obviously adjusted my schedule and did it again. Had round 3 (with senior HR) after that, and honestly the conversation went well. Technical questions, background discussion, all of it felt smooth. At the end they literally told me I've cleared that round and I'm through to the next stage. I was relieved because I've been job hunting for a while alongside my current job and this felt like a solid step forward, especially after everything with round 2. Fast forward to today - a junior HR calls and tells me they're not considering me anymore because my "attitude" wasn't a match. When I asked what they meant, it came down to the fact that I didn't say "sir" enough times while answering questions. I told them I understood and would be more careful about that going forward, but it didn't change anything. I get that formality and respect matter in interviews, and I'm not saying I did everything perfect. But this is the first time in years of interviewing that I've been rejected post-clearance over something like this, after 3 rounds and 4 days, rather than actual technical competency or experience. Feels like a big gap between what they said in the room (cleared, through to next round) and what happened after, especially after being the one who accommodated their reschedule mid-process. Not trying to bash the company, more just venting and also curious - has anyone else had something similar happen where the informal/verbal "you're through" doesn't actually mean anything until it's official? Starting to think I should stop taking those verbal confirmations seriously and just wait for actual written communication going forward. Anyway, back to prepping for the next interview I have lined up. Just needed to get this off my chest somewhere.
