Seven years of trust erased in ten days

I was in a relationship for seven years. When we first got together, we weren't thinking about marriage. But as our relationship became more serious, I asked him one day, "What do you think our future looks like?" That was when he told me he would never marry me because he had always wanted to marry someone from his own faith. That conversation broke me, but I stayed. I believed that if the time ever came, I would at least have an honest conversation with my parents. I didn't know what their answer would have been, but I wanted to try. He, however, had already decided that there was no future for us. I respected that, painful as it was. Over time, we accepted that one day we would have to part ways. We would often talk about how difficult that day would be and promised that, even if we couldn't end up together, we would help each other through it. He knew I would probably have to marry sooner because I am the eldest daughter, while he still had time. Then one day, I found out that he had already started dating a girl from his own faith while he was still with me. The most confusing part was that, during the same time, he would tell me he was scared of losing me, cry in front of me, and reassure me that I meant everything to him. Then he asked me for ten days. He said he needed to figure out what the other girl wanted and that if she wanted something serious, he would have to move forward with her. Ten days later, he told me they had decided to get married. Soon after, he blocked me. This all happened during the worst phase of my life. I had been unemployed for two years, was struggling emotionally, and had lost touch with many friends. He knew all of it because he had been my closest person for seven years. In our last conversation, instead of acknowledging any of that, he blamed me. He said it was my fault that I had no friends, my fault that I wasn't studying properly, and my fault that I didn't have a job. It felt like seven years of love, friendship, and emotional dependence were erased in a matter of days. We spoke for hours every single day for seven years. We even lived together for a brief period. He knew how difficult it was for me to trust people, and he knew that once I trusted someone, I loved them with everything I had. I can accept that relationships end. What I still struggle to understand is how someone who knew you so deeply can leave you at your lowest, replace you so quickly, and make you feel as though your entire journey together never mattered. I'm trying to move on, but some days I still wonder whether I'll ever be able to trust someone again.

1. You are definitely a Hindu, and He is definitely a muslim. 2. Your dependence wasn't just emotional , it was also financial. Thank yourself for the luck that at least he didn't leave you after marriage.

Reality is that, he never loved a person. He loved just the aura inside you, once it was faded and became monotonous for him after knowing each and every personality traits inside you, he started looking for someone else with a new charm and aura. Getting a real love now a days are hard nuts to crack. Most of the people love aura of others in place of loving that person. It is important to love yourself and always improve and learn something. Sacrifice is important at a limted extent in love, much important to make alive your aura even infront of a known person.

Yes you pursued it knowing you are investing in the relationship more than him.. that's the reason it's hurting ... It's not a small thing to go through... Give time.. 7 years you merged your identity with him that you stopped pursuing your career and friends on your own... It's good the guy left you because you have time to process it and focus on your life... Stop focusing on whatever he took advantage of you, think about how much you changed in all these 7 years .. Bring back the old self with new wisdom .. Better things are waiting for you

It’s just that the person is living on old memories. You need to create new ones to live on that. Get up & do that!

I just wanted to say don't trust anyone sister ...it's really hard ...I'm facing the same situation..I know how you are feeling at this moment

if hr was from different faith and belief you should not hae wasted your time ... if you ignored the fact of marriage then you are to blame not that person ... You consensually lived him knowing his religion was not same as you ... so why play victim here

In 5 years when you look back at this, you will regret thinking what an emotional fool you had been. Some relationships happen to us just to awaken us from a dreamy world, to let bitter experiences build us into a better version of ourselves. Think about it yourself, a person who says that he can't marry you due to whatever the reason be, is saying you are my everything and I can't love without you. And you like a blind fool in love believed him?? Take this as a lesson and love yourself more than you love anyone else. Wake up now and move on.

Firstly you or nobody deserves this. Secondly, it happened not because what you had for 7 years got eroded away in 10 days. On the contrary, this painfully proves that what you saw in 10 days was the actual reality of that person which you always ignored(your fault and your accountability here hence spirituality). You ignored maybe for the best of reasons but nonetheless you did were living an illusion hence it has to be shattered one day. This is also a clean and chaos free exit so in a way blessing too. Depends on how you see it. Trying to understand other person while abandoning yourself wouldn't make anything better in your life tbh.

Get into core spiritualism or see a psychologist. If you do the former you won't need the latter.

If you are this needy all your life, you will never get any happiness or peace of mind. Have some self respect. Otherwise you will never be able to move on. Nothing is permanent in this life. To cling to a mistake ,just because you spent a lot of time making it, is both self destructive and humiliating. Have some pride. You deserve better.Pull up your socks girl and get a life. Don’t find excuses and drown in self pity.

He used you stupid witch. Don't believe the words.. Understand the intent and intention behind those words.

Anonymous17 July 2026 at 7:13 pm

How stupid a person has to be that ur partner said he would never marry you yet you still continued with him, gave him 10 days to explore the other girl if she wanted something serious with him? Seriously??? What if the other girl had said no and he came back to you again? You would have happily accepted him right? And Ofc he is absolutely right. Only you are to be blamed for ur situation, no one else. And no need to trust anyone again in this life and no need to marry anyone in this life. Keep ur traumas and victim card to urself.
