A Heart Full of Regret and Unwanted Choices

26 F from Delhi. I originally wrote this confession in Bengali. I'm not very fluent in English, so I translated it into English using ChatGPT. If there are any mistakes or awkward expressions, please forgive me. I wrote this confession a few days ago on a Bengali confession page. I wrote it out of immense remorse. In the comment box, everyone blamed me. They branded me as characterless. Nobody understood my situation. I am writing the confession here again. I hope highly sensitive women will understand my condition. I do not want to deceive my husband. But, despite not wanting to, I have ended up deceiving him. I grew up in a very lower-middle-class family. My father worked in a factory. Even so, we managed to get by with difficulty. That was many years ago. Then, one day, the factory shut down. The year was 2012. I was in Class 8 at the time. My father started working in a shop. Our financial condition became wretchedly worse. There were many days when the three of us ate rice with just salt and water. We didn't even have the money to buy lentils. We used to live in a rented house. After the factory closed, my father couldn't pay the rent properly. One day, a huge fight broke out over this. Our landlord beat my father out on the street. My father could not bear this humiliation. The next day at noon, he suffered a cerebral attack. Even after taking him to the hospital, he was never completely fine again. He couldn't work properly. My father lived for two years after that. From that time onward, my maternal uncle (mama) bore all our expenses. When I completed my graduation, my maternal uncle brought a marriage proposal for me. A good guy. He holds a government job in a very good post. At that time, his posting was in Bhopal. To be honest, I did not like my husband at all when I saw him back then. My husband is extremely dark-skinned. I was beautiful and fair. But with what face could I say no? The maternal uncle who took care of all my expenses from Class 8 until my graduation—who gave us everything from biscuits to rice, electric bills, and even the money for mobile recharges—I couldn't say no to him to his face. So, I got married. We got married during Covid. Later, his family hosted a grand reception. We didn't have the financial capacity to spend a single penny. After the marriage, in the first month, my husband gave me 5,000 rupees for my personal expenses. Believe me, leaving 5,000 rupees aside, no one had ever given me even 100 rupees for personal expenses before. After staying in Bhopal for a while, he got transferred to Delhi.Believe me, after marriage, my husband started becoming even more unattractive. He now started becoming terribly fat. I felt disgusted. After that, my daughter was born. Sometime after this, a Nepali woman used to live next to our apartment. I used to talk to her occasionally. Her home was in Uttarakhand. That woman would often tell us to visit her home in Uttarakhand. She was very down-to-earth.One such afternoon, six months ago, that woman came to our house with a card in hand. It was an invitation card for her brother's sacred thread ceremony , and she had come to invite us. As usual, like every other time, she was telling us to visit their village so she could show us the mountains. Then suddenly she said, "Want to see my brother?" and showed me her brother's photo on her mobile. Believe me, I couldn't have imagined that anyone could be so beautiful, handsome, fair, with a gym-honed body. It felt as if a hero from some Hindi serial was standing there. I developed a crush on him that very day. After that, I tried to find that guy's social media ID. His ID was mentioned in a few of his sister's Instagram posts, so I didn't have to look much. Going into his Insta profile, what I understood was that he was just obsessed with gymming. He had around 50 posts. Out of those, 99% of the posts were taken in the gym. He also takes steroids. That's probably why he has such a beautiful, model-like physique. And my husband is so unattractive. Forget going to the gym, day by day he is just eating and getting fat. I used to look at his Insta ID repeatedly. I watched it every night before going to sleep. Then one day, I gathered the courage to message him. I thought he would ignore me. I had messaged him saying that his sister talks about him a lot, asks us to visit their village, etc. etc. But he didn't ignore me. I got a very positive reply. He was as sociable as his sister. Gradually, we started talking on Insta. Then, slowly, I didn't even realize when we started s*ex chatting. Despite knowing I was doing wrong, I couldn't control myself. Then one day he said he was coming to Delhi to meet me. After meeting that day, I made a mistake and ended up having s*ex with him. I did it by mistake. I didn't want to do it, yet I ended up doing it. This happened 1 week ago.Since then, I have stopped replying to him on Instagram. He has messaged a few times. I haven't given any reply.

That wasn’t a mistake. Deep down, you knew it could happen. Blocking , unfollowing or not replying isn’t enough. You either walk away fully, or you stay but be prepared for a heartbreak .

Motivate your husband to go to gym. And you also join gym with him. Spend some time with your husband. You cheated because your man is ugly.. then, make him look attractive. Motivate and inspire him to work on himself rather than cheating. You are just 26 years old.. young and beautiful, it’s common that you got crush on other boys. But make sure you don’t end of cheating on your husband.

No matter, in how many launguages you translate it, you will get same reply. As far as I know, no language justifies whatever you did..

Looks should never matter god gifted you good life, don’t kick it with temporary attractions. Block him and stay loyal to your husband. Concentrate on your kids growth, pray to god daily.

You realised it was wrong..so it's ok.. now don't repeat it. You are leaving a happy life with your husband. Looks is not important, see good in him and fall in love with his goodness. I tell love outside marriage will be only physical. When it will break you will not feel respected.. if your husband will know then there will be no love from your husband side for you. You will rouin your married life. Hence don't go ahead with extra marital affair

What if your husband see this post. Although this is annomayus post yet keywords like, lower middle class, family background, bhopal to delhi, Nepali women next door, marriage invitation, fat and darked tone is sufficient to track your identity..

Mistakes happen by all human beings in one or the other form, but realising the mistake and not repeating is more important. So forget and move on.. and be happy with your current life.

You are cheating on your husband basically. If your husband did the exact same thing to you, would you be able to stay unbothered? Shamelessly you are criticizing about his appearance, weigh and involving sexually with other men even though your husband is a good human being and takes good care of you. You cannot expect everything in one individual. Few things you have to compromise in a relationship.

So you basically cheated on your husband and now giving the most lamest excuse "I didn't want to do this but somehow ended up doing it". You cheated on your husband on the very day you texted a random boy, and don't act like you're FORCED to do so coz you find your husband unattractive.

Poor but beautiful girl married off to rich but ugly guy – that's one of the sad customs of patriarchy. After graduation, you could have searched job, earn own money, and then after 4-5 years you could have married man of your choice. Are you earning now? If yes then take divorce and live however you want. If no then do not ever cheat on husband (who is trying to buy love from a beautiful woman with money). Because financially dependent woman has a LOT to lose if she cheats. Now pray that he never finds out.

Have some gratitude towards the man who's been providing and caring for you. You're not the victim here. Your poor husband is. Everything you did was "by mistake" was it? If a man described his wife as fat and ugly, and cheated on her, you'd call him characterless too. If you don't like your husband, stop taking his money and leave. Don't look for sympathy to ease your guilt. I hope your husband finds out the truth and leaves you.

Anonymous15 July 2026 at 7:03 pm

Mistake? You mistakenly landed on top of his d!ck huh 🙄

Anonymous15 July 2026 at 6:57 pm

I will say the same again like what I said in bengali, What you did is not a mistake but a choice and now you are saying this because you want sympathy so that you could do the same. I hope your husband can find what you did and leave you. You deserve where you belong.

Understandable. You are not the only fair woman full of herself married to an ugly dark govt. job uncle. There are many living this transactional life. But instead of living this life of adultery, divorce your husband and go with ur crush/bf whatever he is and live a happy life. Just don't kill ur husband or daughter in the process 😐

Why couldn't you get a job instead of getting married to somebody that you thought was soo unattractive? Your husband would've gotten married to somebody else that could've loved and respected him. This had to happen someway since you kept focusing on your husband's looks and never on the part that he gave you money and made you feel respected.

Anonymous16 July 2026 at 1:11 pm

The thing is it's not about garibi, people who have mentality like you are garib from the heart, brain, soul and morals.... Then you ask God why I face problems everywhere. Also I have seen the audacity of people like you to think in your mind that you have done nothing wrong. At least accept what you are, be open about it, live your life and don't destroy other people's lives.

Your confession has caught my eye several times. What exactly do you want?? You are a characterless, deceitful, and low-minded woman. You should divorce your husband and set him free.

Anonymous15 July 2026 at 3:43 pm

Cheating is indeed a choice. Your husband gave you 5000 rs for your personal expenses and yet you cheated on him and had sex with another guy behind his back. You are not only characterless but a pathetic woman as well. Your husband might be unattractive but cheating on him shows your character. You are not only born poor, you are cheap as well.

Anonymous15 July 2026 at 2:28 pm

They were right calling you characterless 👍 You didn't have the courage to say no to a marriage proposal, but have the damn balls to end up in an extra marital affair. Hopefully your daughter will end up doing something like you.
