30F. Unemployed. Unmarried. I'm unemployed, unmarried, and struggling with depression. All I have going for me right now are decent looks and the ability to cook, clean, and take care of household chores. That's my current lifestyle. Growing up, I was one of the toppers in school, but a career never happened. I grew up in a domestic violence environment. Those days are long gone now, and my parents never got divorced. They're too old to fight anymore. I struggled with my own issues, procrastination, and not focusing on my career. I never really had a serious career plan, and a breakup pushed me into depression. I've always attracted manipulators and liars, until I finally fixed my need to be loved and chosen by difficult people. Last year, I wanted to k*ll myself because I couldn't take the pain of my life anymore. I didn't go through with it looking at my mom. Instead, I decided to work on my mental health. I've become much stronger, calmer, and clearer since then. I used to be afraid to even call customer care, and now I have no fear of speaking up for myself. I worked hard for this. I cried through countless nights processing the painful things that happened in my life. I honestly don't know if marriage is in the cards for me anymore. Fortunately, I no longer feel like I need a partner, which wasn't something I could say until this year. And with my depression and sadness, I don't think it would be fair to involve a man in my life right now. All I want is to start my career. Is it too late for me? I have an academic background in commerce. I've learned some coding over the years and genuinely loved it, but nothing came of it. Recently, I've been learning AI automation. I really want to work in IT, but I need some serious direction. My questions are: 1) Is it possible to completely turn my life around and build an amazing life? 2) What should I do next to secure a decent job? 3) Which areas of AI are most likely to lead to remote opportunities with US or UK companies?

I am 33 now .. When I was 30, I was in a very similar situation. I didn’t have a job, I was unmarried, I was constantly worried about getting married, and I didn’t have the support of my family. I was also going through breakup depression. My ex left me cos of no family support..i am an orphan But today, my life is completely different. I am happily married and blessed with a beautiful son. I got married at 32, and I had my baby at 33. Life is all about destiny and timing. So, please don’t lose hope. If you stay negative, you’ll never be able to welcome positivity into your life. Always believe in yourself, keep manifesting your dreams, and remember that anything is possible in life 😍 i have many friends who’s into IT bt market me job hi nhi h even i have seen them struggling..bt pls dont stop trying ..ek baar IT COMPANY me small salary me ghus jao then hi aage chances h ..work experience matters alot ..and yes jo bhi market me chal rha h usi regarding course karte raho Further suggestion feel free to dm anytime ..good luck and god always bless you 🙏🏻
Yes, your life can absolutely change. At 30, it's not too late—many people start successful careers much later after overcoming difficult circumstances. The biggest difference is that you've already done the hardest part: facing your pain instead of running from it. Now focus on one goal: build employable skills. Pick a single path (AI automation, Python, data analysis, or web development), create 3–5 real projects, build a LinkedIn and GitHub portfolio, and apply consistently every day. For remote US/UK opportunities, AI automation (LLMs, Python, workflow automation using tools like n8n, Make, Zapier), prompt engineering, AI agents, and data/ML support roles are currently among the strongest entry points. Most importantly, continue taking care of your mental health. If your depression is ongoing, keep working with a mental health professional if possible or take a support of trainer. A stable mind will help you build a stable career. One step at a time—you've already proven you can survive difficult chapters. Now it's time to build the next one. All the Best.
Instead of trying to build a 'career', can you just start with any job and work for few months atleast? That will give you confidence to go out of house and deal with people. If you are good cook join some mess, small eatery or home cooks who take party orders.
All you need to do is make up your mind and stick to your decision. There are many like you. Don't blame anyone except yourself for the state you're in. You're just 30. You gave priority to the wrong things hence you ended up this way. It's not late , just resolve to get on track with zero distractions. All the best. Once a smart girl always a smart girl. Put the past behind you. God bless you.
Oh sweety you didn't just come from DV. I can bet, at least one of your parents was a Narc while the other was such a stockholm survivor that they projected all their insecurities on you while killing any light to succeed in yourself so they could have company in tolerating the Narc person, who anyway would not want anyone to be financially independent. The GOOD thing is, at least you can do your own chores (I have seen those so broken, or with both parents narc, who couldn't do anything and had to start from scratch). So here's what you do... what is your current qualification? Start small with something like Data Annotation (you seem educated) or Media Buying. Don't be stuck on "remote" because it would do you good to get out of that environment. But yes, be sure yo focus on work and not fall for narcs who approach you along the way. Once you're on that track, share an update here and I'll be happy to guide ahead once you have some money of your own. God Bless You, All the Best. Remember! "You are only one decision away from a completely different life." That quote changed my life, and I hope it does the same for you. Let go of your tragic past and start fresh. It's great that you're focusing on your career, but choose your field wisely. There's much more to AI than just automation. Explore the different paths, get some training, and start applying for jobs. There are plenty of opportunities out there for the right AI jobs, so don't lose hope. Good luck! 😇
