An Office Affair: Lust, Lies, and Lunch Breaks

#C27678 I wrote the confession, and I wanted to clarify a few things. 1) This is simply a case of lust winning over love. A little background about the girl—she has always had a promiscuous reputation and is well known for it. She was considered very beautiful during our teenage years, and many guys were crazy about her. We are both to blame here. She seeks physical satisfaction, while I probably enjoy the feeling of being with someone many people once desired. 2) We have no intention of hurting her husband. She has told me that she loves him, but she isn't satisfied with their physical relationship. They have also not conceived despite being married for eight years. 3) We usually meet during office breaks because it's the least suspicious time. Most colleagues assume we're just out for a walk or running errands. The important thing is that we're always back in the office on time. Once we're at work, we behave as if we barely know each other. There are no workplace harassment concerns because we've known each other since childhood, although she was my senior. Right now, it's nothing serious—just a fling that we both enjoy. 4) To those blaming me in the comments: I believe many of you would make the same choice if you were in a similar situation. It's easy to take the moral high ground until you're tested yourself. There's a Rajesh Khanna movie where people are throwing stones at a thief who stole bread. Rajesh Khanna says that the first stone should be thrown only by someone who has never lied or done anything wrong in life. Everyone fell silent. We all have flaws. As the saying goes, "Chor sabke andar hai. Jo zyada bolta hai, uske andar sabse zyada hai."

“Everyone would do it" is one of the oldest excuses in the book. Plenty of people are tempted and still choose not to cheat. Nobody is claiming anyone is perfect, but admitting we're all flawed doesn't make every choice equally acceptable. Your choices are still yours, and they have consequences for people who never agreed to them.

For Point No. 4 - Chor Sabke Andar hota hai, Har koi chori nahi karta hai. Ch***yapa Bandh karo apne justify karne ka.

In your last confession you wrote, "A part of me wants to end this before it gets worse, but another part finds it difficult to walk away." Now you're calling it "just a fling" and saying most people would do the same. That's not growth, that's rationalization. You went from feeling guilty to trying to convince yourself there's nothing to feel guilty about. If you really believed you were doing nothing wrong, you wouldn't have struggled to walk away in the first place.

1. If she has been sexually adventurous since teenage years, are you sure it's only husband & you now? Aren't you worried about STDs? 2. Then you 3 should have sat together and discussed about open marriage arrangement BEFORE starting fling. 3. People notice sexual tension more than you are willing to think. They are not questioning/teasing you two out of the blue. 4. Issues are her husband and your office ethics committee. Not virtual judgemental IDs.

Only thing I will say here is, If a woman is already with a man, Be very careful, His anger towards her would be directed at you too. It will be too much to handle if he loves her, and she didn’t value him the way he expected. Stepping out quietly is wise. Maybe the wisest thing you can do.

Did you actually expect people to sympathize with you? The fact that you're trying to justify your actions is the most concerning part. You were the one who started flirting with a married woman, with what intentions exactly? Yes, it was her mistake to respond positively and indulge in it. But she didn't suddenly give you a chance to sleep with her out of nowhere, so there's no "people would make the same choice" situation here. There was never a choice. You made the decision to pursue a married woman.
