Navigating Grief And New Love Under Pressure To Marry
I am a 33-year-old man. I was in a relationship with my girlfriend for eight years. We were supposed to get married this year, but in January 2026, she met with a fatal accident and died on the spot. Since her death, I have become an alcoholic. I now drink 750 ml of whisky every evening. I start drinking in the evening and continue until I fall asleep because otherwise I cannot sleep.I had quit alcohol for her and joined a gym seven years ago. I built a great physique, but now everything feels meaningless. I have lost the will to live.Recently, I met a girl at my gym. We have been talking for about a month. She knows everything about my past. She likes me, and I have started to like her too. However, her family wants her to get married next year. She doesn't want to marry yet because she wants to get a job first, but her family is pressuring her yesterday, she told me that she wants to marry me, but she would like us to date for at least six to eight months before making that decision the problem is that I am unemployed. I have only a B.Com degree and no work experience. During our relationship, my late girlfriend, who was a government bank manager, used to take care of my expenses.What should I do now? As a B.Com graduate with no experience and a 10-year career gap, what should I do to get my first job? The girl I recently met is genuinely kind, and her family is quite wealthy. What should I do?
