I’m an engineer in SF (previously worked in Europe). Career-wise I’m sorted, but the arranged marriage market has been a pretty bizarre experience lately. Just to be upfront, I have a slight stammer, especially with complex words. I always tell the girl's side right away. Yet, it still shocks me when people who already know this abruptly hang up mid-call or act straight-up rude in person. Rejection is a normal part of life, no complaints there. But you can easily say 'no' while maintaining basic decency and courtesy. Honestly, the lack of empathy in people these days keeping me low most of the time after these conversations. 🥲

Why confess, can't they understand by themselves in a meeting. Be confident, don't show it as a lacunae. Say it's temporary and it wil be gone. And keep searching for treatments, which is mainly behavorial (self training). As it's treatable in due course anyway

You deserve better than them. A stammer is nothing, it doesn't define you. You are much much more than your stammer.

You've been working in EU & SF long enough to probably have forgotten this... I can't wrap my head around it till date either... But unfortunately despite all the "culture" charade, our society at the outset has an absolute lack of honesty and any basic decency when it comes to dealing with other humans. And this.. becomes 10X worse when it comes to the marriage market. Do yourself a favour, find someone u can he in love with, who is decent, irrespective of caste, race, religion or event gender (if u may like that) and get settled eith them. Arranged marriage market in general in India is an absolute farce these days in 60% cases.

People when they are rude for no apparent reason are often rude to hide their own inferiority complex. May be, not stammering is the only and only thing they are ahead of you. So chill - you are doing good.

That's not your fault that's their fault , they donot have the patience of understanding how speech works .. So donot worry world is full of morons who lack mere civics sense ...empathy is not people virtue in today's world .
