Do you think in today's economy should one get married and have kids considering job instability, poor health due to job stressm, inflation, high property prices? Since I am from IT with work from office setup so the lifestyle is considered accordingly and If I think how much money I will need alone to survive next 40 years. The figure is around 2.5 cr. It's scary to imagine how to create a family and provide for it.

I'm 35 now. IT Employee, my wife is Home maker, one 4 yrs old boy. Living in my own house. **This is my opinion purely from my own experience only** If you have strong ancestors property for at least 1 Cr (you've to be very sure that you will get it without any legal struggles from your parents before you reach 40), then own house / small plot, obviously decent paying job, then go ahead for a marriage. If your spouse could help you financially, then go ahead to have one kid. Still I don't recommend for 2 kids in our society. You need more courage and major planning to have 2 kids. Some ppl may encourage you to have 2 kids (sibling love and all), don't listen to them at all. They won't help you even with 100 rs as debt. πŸ€£πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

You are thinking right.. not worth to get married in India unless you bow to every wish of your wife irrespective of your financial status.. In simple, single life is so better

Marriage is only for Strong men and women those who are very very Strong from Health money brain and heart. Poor and weak don't try this game πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, it can cost your life. Think 1000 time about it. Our health may fall down after 10 years job uncertainty, if we can handle all this then yes go ahead else chill 😎 and enjoy.

It’s good to see more and more people are waking up and thinking along these lines. Every child is a consumer. A capital economy needs more and more customers and hence we are encouraged to have more children by fear mongering with β€œAgeing population” etc. But do we really want to bring more children into this planet. Should we not consider 1) Economy 2) Pollution 3) Over crowding 4) Mining resources 5) Wars 6) adulteration

Marriage and childbirth are personal decision... You decide as per your situation... If you can afford it dn go for it, if not dn that's fine... India is already populated, nobody would actually care if you don't make a contribution to it... So do whatever you want and live however you want as long as you die happily...

You can live at any price provided u know how to control your spending people when they join compnes they work for 4-5 lakhs for years now it's difficult to see people survive at 40-50 lakh couple income but whole industry will very soon make u learn how to live again at 70-80 k everything will be adjusted according to that

>> If I think how much money I will need alone to survive next 40 years. The figure is around 2.5 cr. >> Which model/site you are checking? 2.5cr for 1 person seems too high to me. Google more about FIRE concept. You might also be interested in off grid living.

More money automatically does not buy kids quality of education, but his way of life with values and hard work in the house and school does. Do not plan something on yesterday's metrics. Do not make your kid's path smoother, but make him capable enough to take rougher paths smoothly. Have as many kids as possible if you can provide basic essentials for all of them and if your wife is okay having an X number of kids, but keep in mind, when time is needed, you should be tutoring your kids. If you are a good citizen, our country needs many of your offspring to serve our nation who got values from their father.

A better question is, are you comfortable living alone, with you, "happily". If you can nothing beats being single.

Let's consider worst case scenario: You are a girl who gets married by 28 years coming from patrichy family so no maternal inheritance. Your spouse has personal loan and after marriage you help him financially to clear off loan. The money u r earning and expenditure are 50-50 since your husband has financial responsibility towards his parents. Now your sister in law gets divorced and come to your in laws place with her kid and how she will survive so the in law decide to give her the house. You argue with your husband and he is not very understanding and instead manipulate you that we have a baby. While u r pregnant he cheats which is very common now. Now after kid when u have no inheritance your husband is distant and u do not have property for u and liability towards raising a kid. What you will do? Also if u r interested IT as a new mom you won't be able to focus on career and will slack. Now say u r laud off too now what? Only option left: Suicide. So ya marriage is so scary for good girls and they usually end in either Suicide/ therapy/divorce.

The current generation girls aren't worth marrying anywhich ways. Not just from a financial pov but overall. You would be better off with casual flings and 304's & it's better not to have children either so it's recommended to be single.
