26F I am absolutely happy with my decision of leaving my 16lpa job. I feel blessed my husband has canadian citizenship. He Received it after 5 years of residence 2 years ago. He is around 35 years age.He was unemployed since last 8 months yet both of us did not feel depressed or panicked at all. I felt extremely happy like an extended vacation. He is starting a new job in July 1st week. I felt more happy unemployed here than I was with 16lpa salary in India. He got 3k/month in unemployment and 1.5k/month in childcare benefits for twin kids and net 4.2k month due to tax witholding. I got PR only last month due to processing delay when I came back 2 years and now found a job at grocery store paying 2k/month 15 days back. Rent here is just 2k/month and groceries cost no more than 1k/month for 4 of us. Utility Bills don't cost more than 200/month. We went on trips to carribean, niagra falls, and also a full road tour of 2 weeks of usa with kids all combined under budget of 10k cad with unemployment money and have some instagrammable memories ;). I am still bit cranky and recovering from birth and kids stress but I am absolutely happy with my decision of leaving 16lpa job in india. When my father was fired from private job, he was not given anything and 15 months we had to exhaust our savings, imagining the situation brings tears to me everytime because he cried everyday during that time. Our in laws looked after kids when we went to carribean for fun couple trip ๐Ÿ˜ in โ›ฑ๏ธ for one week and are helping look after kids now. They came 2 months back. Husband said don't worry about job now until I become fully energetic to work for 8 hours, but I am ambitious and preparing. My opinion is the life here is extremely good if you are a citizen/PR.He is now getting a 100k job which puts us comfortably rich.

I am curious to know how he gets 3k in unemployment benefits. These are benefits that govt gives based on what you have actually contributed, also based on the number of years he has worked. At 35, being unemployed for 8 months this amount is not right

Itโ€™s not about money, itโ€™s all about work place environment. Work place environment is toxic in India.

Letโ€™s decode, she said she getting 1.5k for child benefits it means they are below poverty line in Canada I.e they are getting 750cad for each child, she said they are paying rent 2000 cad then she is living in basement of house and mostly immigrant living in basement of their starting year. Unemployment benefits depend only on tax you paid. Rest assured she tried to hype it but reality totally differentโ€ฆ..

Canada is flushing out Indians now. Happiness won't last last long

Anonymous28 June 2026 at 2:13 am

Fake. And flauting for no reasons?!!. Wrong calculations of expenses in Canada. What are you trying to prove? Degrading India or trying to be guilt free for leaving your job in India. Either way, what you say is totally false because I've been in Canada. Dont degrade your own birth country just because to flaunt your life. This is extremely a cheap behavior!!

One day you will realise how much stupid you sound. You sound so happy to be an unemployed parasite!
