#Before You Ghost Someone, Think Twice...

Never ghost or block someone without a reason or without a word of explanation.

It may seem like a simple thing to do stop replying, disappear, block their number, or quietly walk away. But what feels easy to one person can leave a deep and lasting impact on another’s heart and mind.

If you have been talking to someone for a long time, if you have shared conversations, laughter, memories, comfort, or even a genuine connection, and then suddenly choose to stop talking or start avoiding them, please think twice before doing so.

Communicate. Explain. Be honest.

You don't have to stay in someone’s life if you no longer want to. You are allowed to change your mind. You are allowed to walk away. You are allowed to protect your peace and choose what is right for you.

But you can still leave with kindness.

Ghosting someone is easy. Blocking them is easy. Ignoring their messages is easy. What is difficult is having an honest conversation and telling them the truth.

And sometimes, the truth may hurt but uncertainty can hurt even more.

Imagine being on the other side of that silence. You keep wondering what went wrong. You replay old conversations in your head. You search for mistakes you may have made. You wonder whether you said something wrong, whether you were not good enough, or whether everything you shared ever meant anything to the other person.

The hardest part is that the person who is left behind may never get an answer.

Maybe they had given you a special place in their heart. Maybe they trusted you. Maybe they respected you. Maybe, without you even realizing it, they had started considering you an important part of their life.

And then, suddenly, you disappear.

Not everyone will scream.

Not everyone will confront you.

Not everyone will ask for an explanation.

Some people simply remain silent and fall apart quietly from within.

And that silence doesn't mean they weren't hurt. Sometimes, it means they were hurt too deeply to even put their pain into words.

This is how emotional wounds are created. This is how people slowly develop trust issues. This is how someone who once trusted easily begins questioning everyone who comes into their life.

One person’s inability to communicate can become another person’s fear of trusting again.

And eventually, we contribute to creating a more emotionally broken society where people are afraid to open their hearts because they are afraid of being abandoned without an explanation.

Then, ironically, we ask ourselves:

“Why can't I find the right person?”

But perhaps being the right person also means knowing how to treat people with honesty, kindness, and respect even when you no longer want them in your life.

Maybe someday, you will look back and regret the way you treated someone.

Maybe you will realize that it wasn't their fault. Maybe you will understand that you acted out of immaturity, confusion, fear, ego, or simply because you didn't know how to communicate your feelings.

And perhaps, on that day, you will want to say:

“I'm sorry.”

But what if, by then, you no longer get the chance?

Life is incredibly unpredictable. We never know when a conversation will be our last, when someone will disappear from our lives forever, or when an opportunity to apologise will no longer exist.

One day, there may be nothing left except regret.

A thousand “What ifs?”

A thousand “I should have…”

And an apology that was never spoken.

And perhaps, the person you once walked away from without an explanation will no longer be there to hear it.

So before you block someone, ghost someone, or disappear from their life without a word, pause for a moment.

Ask yourself:

“Is the reason really impossible to explain?”

You don't owe everyone an explanation for every decision you make. But when you have shared a meaningful connection with someone, a little honesty can save them from a lot of unnecessary pain.

Because the person on the other side is human too.

They have a heart.

They have feelings.

They have emotions.

They have memories.

They have hopes.

And they can hurt.

They are not a machine that you can simply switch off when you are done with them.

Walking away is sometimes necessary.

But if you have to walk away, walk away with honesty not cruelty, with clarity not silence; with respect not disappearance.

Because you never truly know what someone is going through behind their silence.

And sometimes, the deepest wounds are not caused by what someone said-

but by what they never said before they left.
