#C27483 M24, 0 LPA Continuation of #C27114 Yesterday(Jun15), I was called into a meeting with my manager and HR and was informed that I was being laid off. The reason given was that the company is restructuring around AI and the role I was originally hired for would no longer exist going forward. Leadership had decided to eliminate profiles in that category and I was one of them as part of Project LEAP affecting 15K people. They gave me a severance pay of 3 months & My LWD is 18 June. What hit me the hardest wasn't even the layoff itself. It was how sudden it was. I wasn't on a PIP. I wasn't underperforming. I wasn't sitting idle on the bench. I had recently joined a project, was discussing future work, and KT planning was already underway. I was preparing for interviews, learning new technologies, and trying to improve myself. Then in a single meeting, I was told that none of that mattered because the role itself had been marked for removal. It's a strange feeling when you're told that you're not being let go because of what you did, but because the industry is changing and your role is no longer considered necessary. You spend years building skills, working hard, and planning your future, only to realize that decisions made far above your level can change everything overnight. Right now I'm trying to process it, prepare harder, and move forward. I have around 2 years of experience in .NET development and I'm actively looking for opportunities. Also I was thinking of learning Argentic AI implementation or Data engineering, pls suggest if it's a viable idea.
