#C26849 Hello Friends, M, soon to be 45, living in NCR. More than a confession, this is a dilemma. Earned nearly 80L in past year (including variable. The lowest income can go is 67L), product based US company. Received RSUs in March 2026 whose value is approx 9L pa as of today, putting me around 89L income. Have wife, 2 children (18 yr - college going, 15 yr - 10th boards upcoming in 2027) and both parents who live with me. Single income. Recently received an offer from Abu Dhabi for 43k AED per month, free education for children below 18, 4k AED per member in UAE for annual flight allowance, health insurance for family, mobile expenses for me, etc, and 4 month additional salary based on performance, 35 days of annual leave + work from anywhere, giving 49 calendar days to be with my family. Plus, during vacation my family can be with me. So, I see 3-4 months of being together in worst case scenario. If I quit before March 2027, I need to forego my RSUs. While the jump is about 40% if I match the exact cash value (and not additional benefits), I wonder if it is worth the migration. First year, I am thinking of going alone and shift my family next year - not parents though - as no dependent visa will be given for them. Parents are just above okay to stay with my brother, but they less willing mainly due to his wife. I have already pushed their upper limit from 38K -> 43K AED. So, I don't expect any further negotiation. Is it worth disturbing my family for this movement? I have already shifted 5 cities across India, so my family doesn't see this to be a problem. But I will be without my family for the first time and also when my younger child will be giving 10th boards. I am thankful to the universe for this situation. It is a good problem to have. Right now, I don't have any debts and I save in excess of 3L per month. I wonder if I will be able to save in excess of 5L per month in terms of AED, which can make this a financially compelling reason to move. Me and my family live pretty frugal but not miserly. For example, we have a 3 BHK whose rent I pay is 32K including maintenance. That's something I have tried to inculcate in children too. While I have used AI tools to do the calculations, any first hand experience from someone who is in UAE or was in UAE can be extremely helpful. So while financial reason is one reason to move, the other reason I am unable to make a decision is due to disturbing the current family dynamics. I really hope I can get a quick response to this as I need to confirm the potential employer about my availability. Thanks in advance.

Don't shift your family as both are in there career making age... getting the right education is a tough call.
100% worth it - as you age you need to build secure future faster. Far better quality of life. Very easy for parents to visit on tourist visa and stay for some time with you.

You should move, bollywood and and enterpreneur from India also moved to UAE.. IN UAE your children also get good future and success..
Consider the cost of living there before moving.
Honest opinion-your salary is extremely good. I worked in abu dhabi and dubai. Things to consider, job safety in uae is a myth no one speaks about, check the reputation of the company. You can save as per you mentioned in the intial time without your family and once family comes it dips a little. Another struggle is to starting everything from scratch and rental is way high in abu dhabi these days. Expect a lowest 2 bhk costs 75k and has to be paid 3 months rent in advance and cheque + 5% comission. Car is also must if you are not staying near to your home, if you have indian licence go for golden chance in abu dhabi.
I live in Dubai. This is a good salary to start with. You'll get more exposure and UAE two cities - Dubai and Abu Dhabi are growing. I think it's better to move here and retire early by 50-52. You'll earn above 60k within a couple of years for sure. Give it sometime.
Cost of living in UAE is high. The percentage of increase in your salary will be equal to the difference in cost of living. And check for your job security in future. Ofcourse middle exposure is excellent but work pressure is equally high.
Go for it.
Welcome to UAE, if you need any support with regards to cost and living, transport or any other details do let me know.
