#C27255 I'm 26 years old. I studied XII, completed a Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, worked for a few years, and then went back to complete a B.Tech in CSE (AI & DS). Looking back, I have spent almost my entire life learning, preparing, and trying to build a career. Recently, I joined the Building Management System (BMS) and automation field with a salary of around ₹26K. Sometimes I look at my friends who earn more than me and wonder whether I made a mistake somewhere. Many of them are already earning well, while I feel like I'm still trying to find my place. I could have taken a generic IT path. I was even selected by a major IT company at one point. But I chose automation because I genuinely wanted to work with real systems, infrastructure, HVAC, electrical systems, and building technology. I wanted to be in the field, not just behind a screen. The truth is, I still don't know whether this field is good or bad. I don't know whether it has a bright future or whether I'm taking a risk. I don't know if it will take me abroad, make me an engineer, or completely change my life. But at the same time, I realize something important: I am still moving forward. What I do know is that staying stuck and doing nothing would definitely not help. So for now, I have decided to keep learning, keep working, and keep moving forward. Success may come late, or it may come differently than I imagined. But I would rather try and fail than spend my life wondering, "What if?" Sometimes the hardest part of a career isn't the work. It's trusting that the path you're building today will make sense years later. To the people already working in BMS, HVAC, Building Automation, PLC, SCADA, and related fields: Is this field worth staying in? Does it really have a future? I'd genuinely like to hear your honest experiences and advice.
