#C27202 Need some career advice. Hi, I'm 26M and currently working as a DevOps & Cloud Engineer. Before transitioning into IT, I spent around 4 years in a non-IT domain. I switched to IT about 6 months ago and currently earn 5 LPA. I worked extremely hard to make this transition, learning DevOps and Cloud technologies on my own. It wasn't an easy journey, and I'm grateful that my current company believed in my skills and gave me this opportunity. Fortunately, I've been performing well in my role so far. However, my current project offers limited opportunities to use or expand my DevOps and Cloud skill set. Because of that, I'm continuing to learn and build my skills outside of work while planning to stay here for another year to gain more relevant experience. By then, I'll have around 5+ years of total work experience, but only about 1.5 years of relevant IT experience. My goal is to switch to a DevOps/Cloud role with a salary in the 10–12 LPA range. I believe I'm a quick learner and can become technically strong with consistent effort. At the same time, I'm conscious of my age, financial responsibilities, and long-term career growth. I'd appreciate honest advice from people who have made a similar transition: • Is a 10–12 LPA target realistic with ~1.5 years of relevant IT experience? • How should I position my total experience vs. relevant IT experience during interviews? • What skills, certifications, or projects would make the biggest impact before my next switch? • How do recruiters typically evaluate candidates like me who have strong skills but come from a non-IT background? During my transition into IT, I faced many rejections because of my non-IT experience. Has anyone here successfully overcome a similar challenge? Looking forward to your insights. Thank you.

1.5 yoe and expectations 10-12 lpa.... at current market condition is like a 🤡 scenario.... People aren't even able to switch, be happy with what you have
Why not ? I know people earning 35 LPA with 5+ experience. But they are into Mlops.

You have close to 5yoe, 10-15lpa is very much possible. There are floks who get 25Lpa + . So don't worry by listening to stupid advice.. Don't explicitly say you just have 1.5y relevant experience only - make your resume such that you have done AWS thingy through out your career. Prepare really well so you can clear interview! In 4year i made 3 switches that too into different domains so yeah anything is possible!
Yes possible bro Target PBC companies they can easily pay you. Recently I switched to 30+ lpa at 5 year of exp
U definitely deserve better pay, why don't u search thru job portal? It's skill sets in IT matters most
